Men's Tennis Drops Season Finale at Austin Peay

The Murray State men's tennis team concluded the 2008 season Monday, with a 6-1 loss at Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn.
In doubles action, seniors Chris Horton and Hunter Gerlach were defeated at No. 1 by Lucas De Brito and Leandro Zenklusen, 8-4. At No. 3, freshmen Mason Johnson and Jadir Semensin fell to APSU's Andrew Solarski and Patrick Puertolas, 8-5, while the No. 2 matchup between Nicholas Ksiezopolski/Yuri Pompeu and Leonardo Locatelli/Jay Wilkinson was unfinished.
In the singles flight, Pompeu fell to De Brito at No. 1, 6-1, 6-2. At No. 2, Gerlach was defeated by Locatelli, 6-3, 6-4, while Horton fell to Puertolas at No. 3 in a tiebreaker, 6-3, 6-7, 6-0. At No. 4, Zenklusen defeated Ksiezopolski, 7-5, 7-6, and Wilkinson defeated MSU's Mikel Headford, 6-2, 6-3, at No. 5. The Racers claimed their only victory of the match at No. 6, where Semensin took down APSU's Darren Tallent, 6-3, 6-1.
The Racers end their 2008 season with a record of 1-14, 1-8 in Ohio Valley Conference play.
