Alan Lollar Named MSU Rifle Head Coach

Alan Lollar has been named the Head Coach of Murray State Rifle program, after serving one year as the interim coach.
“Alan has done an excellent job as interim coach and I'm pleased he is willing to continue on a permanent basis,” said MSU Athletics Director Allen Ward. “I'm confident the program will sustain its championship tradition under Alan's leadership.”

Lollar has shown his abilities to lead the MSU Rifle program in his first season and was named the Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year. Two MSU Rifle student-athletes, Cameron Hicks and Kasey Meyer qualified and competed in the 2008 NCAA Championships at
“I am proud of the effort of the team last season,” Lollar said. “It's not easy to lose your coach just before school starts. Their character, led by seniors Cameron Hicks and Dan Belluzzo, will be the foundation on which we can build future success.”

The hiring of Lollar in the first place was a natural occurrence, knowing the respect he has for the

The MSU Rifle program has produced three NCAA team championships and six individual champions.
