Women's Tennis Falls to Tennessee-Martin, 4-3

The Murray State women's tennis team left it all on the court today against Tennessee-Martin, but fell 4-3 in the first round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament in Nashville, Tenn.
The Racers end their season with a 13-7 record, 7-4 in the OVC.
In the doubles flight, Murray State swept all three matches, with Angela McGahee and Anne Pennington setting the tone by defeating UT-Martin's Sara Leavy and Belisa De Brito at No. 1, 6-5. At No. 2, Lyndsay Ottosen and Alexis Webb took down UTM's Emestine Koornhof and Elizma Scoonees, 8-6, while MSU's Lynsey Bochenek and Katelyn Fulcher were able to defeat Mary Beth Gunn and Martie Wahl at No. 3, 8-5, giving the Racers the doubles point.
In singles competition, McGahee fell to Scoonees, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1, at No. 1, while Leavy defeated Pennington at No. 2, 6-0, 6-3. MSU picked up its first singles victory at No. 3, when Bochenek defeated Wahl, 7-6, 2-6, 6-4, but Tennessee-Martin came right back to take No. 4, a 6-4, 6-2, 6-1 victory by De Brito over Webb. Koornhof came from behind to beat Ottosen, 3-6, 7-5, 6-4, at No. 5, while MSU took No. 6, as All-OVC Second Teamer Adriana Alvarez defeated UTM's Julianne McMeen, 6-1, 6-1.
