Women?s Tennis Announces 2008-09 Schedule

The Murray State women's tennis team announced it's 2008-09 schedule that includes a Fall tournament and seven home matches during the Spring.
The team will open up it's Fall season on Sept. 19-21 when they travel to Chattanooga, Tenn. for the Steve Baras Fall Classic, before heading to the Roberta Alison Fall Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on Sept. 26-28.
The Racers will host a Fall tournament for the first time since 2006 when they host the Murray State Invite on Oct. 17-19 at the Purcell Courts. MSU rounds out the Fall season at the Hokie Fall Classic on Oct. 31-Nov. 2.
The 2009 season gets underway as the Racers play the first of seven-straight road matches at Belmont on Feb. 6. MSU will remain on the road for matches at Evansville (Feb. 13), Ball State (Feb. 14), Butler (Feb. 15), Kennesaw State (Feb. 27), Western Carolina (Feb. 28) and UT Chattanooga (March 1) before opening their home season against Southern Illinois on March 3 at 2 p.m.
The Racers will host SIU Edwardsville in their only other non-conference home match on March 7.
MSU will five of its nine Ohio Valley Conference matches at home, beginning with Morehead State on March 27 and Eastern Kentucky on March 28. The Racers will also host Tennessee Tech (April 3), Southeast Missouri (April 7) and Austin Peay (April 8) before closing out the regular season on April 10 at Eastern Illinois.
The 2009 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament will take place in Nashville, Tenn. on April 18-20 with the Racers serving as tournament host.
