
MSU Rifle Competes At Kentucky

The Murray State Rifle squad turned in their best score since the season opener Saturday in a shoulder-to-shoulder match with
Junior Kasey Meyer led MSU in the smallbore portion of the match with a 577, while freshman Ashley Rose was tops for MSU with a 576 in the air rifle.
The 576 for Rose was her collegiate best as was her 571 in smallbore.
MSU Head Coach Allan Lollar was happy with the effort of the team in their first match since Nov. 21.
“I was happy with the overall effort we gave,” Lollar said. “We had three solid performances including, Rose's personal bests. Apryl
Meares had a personal best with a 574 air rifle and Kasey Meyer shot a solid 577 in smallbore.”
MSU was missing junior Harley Jette, one of the top smallbore shooters after an injury.
“We missed him Saturday and look forward to getting him back soon,” Lollar said.

The MSU score was only topped by their 4575 in the season opener against UT Martin.
MSU's next action is Saturday at the Newkirk Invitational hosted by Tennessee Tech in
“We Look forward to the match at Tech this coming week,” Lollar added. “It's another chance to compete, to mature and to come together as a team.”
