The Salukis captured the doubles point as they were overcame a late rally from the Racers at the No. 1 position. The duo of Ben Clos and Jose Berardo pulled within 7-5 late, but were not able to keep the momentum as they fell 8-5.
At No.3 doubles, Jadir Semensin and Mason Johnson were locked in a tight match that went down to a tiebreak. SIU was able to win the tiebreaker 7-5 to take the match.
In singles action, Clos dropped the first set at No. 1, but battled back an almost forced a third set before falling 8-6 in the second-set tiebreak.
The Racers return to the courts on March 7 as they host SIU Edwardsville at 10 a.m. at the Purcell Courts.
