Meyer Takes OVC Award - Rifle Preps For Championship Event

Meyer led MSU in the small bore competition in both of the Racers' competitions during January and has been the top shooter on the squad in this particular gun in all nine events in the 2008-09 season.

"Kasey is a great example of one of our team concepts; hard work pays off,” MSU Head Coach Alan Lollar said. “Kasey started to come into his own late last year and with a very good summer of hard work, he has turned into one of the best shooters in the OVC.”
“We have always known Kasey had the ability to be a very good air rifle shooter,” Lollar added. “The difference for him this year has been his small bore performances. Kasey works everyday to find a way to get better and that attitude has helped him climb into very select company.”
The Racer rifle squad travels to
MSU won seven consecutive championships from 1994-2000 and has finished second in the last three championships.
The Racers have finished no worse than third since the inception of the conference championship in 1994.
Competition begins Saturday with small bore at 8:00 a.m. Air rifle is Sunday at the same time.
