
Men's Tennis Defeats Austin Peay

The Murray State men's tennis team improved its record to 5-6 overall and 2-0 in Ohio Valley Conference action with a 5-2 victory over Austin Peay Wednesday afternoon at the Purcell Tennis Courts.
The Racers got of to a quick start as they captured the doubles point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3. The duo of Mason Johnson and Jadir Semensin got things going with an easy 8-1 victory at No. 3. After a loss at the top spot, Renaldo Domoney and Jorge Caetano teamed up for an 8-4 victory at No. 2 to clinch the doubles point.
In singles action, the Racers jumped out quickly with a Semensin 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 and a Caetano 6-4, 6-0 victory at No. 4. The Govs earned a victory at No. 1 before Berardo clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-4 triumph at No. 3.
MSU also got a 6-1, 6-4 victory from Johnson at No. 5.
The Racers return to the court this weekend with a 2:30 p.m. match against Morehead State Friday.
