Men's Tennis Falls in Regular Season Finale

The Murray State men's tennis team closed out the 2009 regular season with a 7-0 defeat at the hands of #88 Jacksonville State Sunday afternoon at the Purcell Tennis Courts. The loss drops the Racers to 7-10 overall and 4-4 in OVC action.
The Racers found themselves locked in a tight battle for the doubles point as Ben Clos and Jose Berardo won 8-6 at the top spot. After falling 8-3 at No. 2, Jorge Caetano and Jadir Semensin suffered a tough 8-6 defeat at No. 3
In singles action, Mason Johnson came back from injury to battle a split out of the first two sets at No. 5 before being forced to retire.
The Racers open OVC Tournament action Friday afternoon at 2 p.m. against No. 5 seed Morehead State. The Racers defeated the Eagles 4-3 at the Purcell Tennis Courts March 27.
