Women?s Tennis Puts Together Strong Weekend at UT Martin Rock 'N' Roll Tournament

The Murray State women's tennis team kicked off the fall season as they played in the UT Martin Rock 'N' Roll Tennis Tournament this past weekend. Six different Racers went against players from Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Lipscomb, and UT Martin.
The senior/sophomore combination of Lyndsay Ottosen and Cassidy Cunitz paired up as and defeated conference rival UTM in doubles play. UT Martin would end up getting the better of MSU in singles play though, as they cruised to a 4-1 victory.
MSU would defeat Lipscomb later that day, 4-1, as Alexis Webb, Ashley Canty, Cunitz and Ottosen all earned victories in singles play.
Webb and Canty paired up in the final match of the day against SIUE and earned a point for the Racers as they won 6-3, 6-4 in their doubles match. Angela McGahee, Cunitz, and Ottosen also earned points for the Racers in singles.
MSU will head to Memphis Friday, Sept. 18, to take part in the Memphis Collegiate Invitational, which will be held Friday-Sunday.
