The Murray State Cross Country teams gear up for their fourth meet of the season Friday, Oct. 2nd as they participate in the Tennessee Tech Invitational. The race will take place at 3 p.m. at the Southern Hills Golf Course in Cookeville, Tenn. The women will kick things off by running a 5k, followed by the men's 8k at 3:30 p.m.
MSU finished third in the women's 5k last weekend at the Saluki Invitational as Katelyn Jones turned in the top finish for the Racers.
Jones has finished in the top 15 in each of MSU's three competitions, including a fifth place finish last weekend. Taylor Crawford has two consecutive top 10 finishes for the Racers as they continue to improve. Asenath Na'Aman and reigning freshman of the year Karissa Magnuson have improved their individual results in each meet of the season.
On the men's side, Andrew Beckman once again turned in the top performance to help the Racers finish fifth in the seven team field.
Beckman has been the top finisher in two of the three competitions after turning in a season best 31st place finish last weekend. Theron Chalepah and Andy Pack continue to perform strong as well on the men's side as they both improved their finish from a week ago.
Other OVC schools competing at the Tennessee Tech Invitational include Tennessee State, Jacksonville State, and the host of the event, Tennessee Tech.
