Coming off its first women's team title of 2010, the Murray State cross country teams return after an off week at the Evansville Invitational.
MSU senior Katelyn Jones picked up her first career individual title two weeks ago as the Racers placed five runners in the top 10 to win its first team title of the season at the Tennessee Tech Invite. Jones completed the 5k course in 19:21, 36 seconds ahead of second place. Asenath NaAman and Kayla Crusham followed close behind in third and fourth with times of 20:06 and 20:20, respectively. Bernadette Catron and Karissa Magnusson rounded out MSU finishers in the top 10 with Catron finishing eighth at 20:59 and Magnusson ninth at 21:05. Bridget Stitchnot placed just outside the top 10, completing the circuit in 21:17 for a 12th place finish, and Jamie Kloenne was the final MSU scored entry, finishing in 17th with a time of 21:46.
Derek Perry completed the men's race in 28:38 as the high finisher for the men in eighth. Ryan Johnson followed just under a minute later in 13th with a time of 29:26. Jordan Althoff completed the course in 30:33, finishing in 18th place. Andy Pack ran in 31:46 for a finish of 24th, Renaldo Domoney finished in 31st with a time of 32:57 and Luka Milicevic completed the MSU men's entries with a time of 38:11.
The MSU women won last year's Evansville Invite, placing four runners in the top 15. The Racers return three runners from that group this season, including second-place finisher Jones who completed the course in 18:47.91 with NaAman placing seventh with a time of 19:22.81 and Crusham coming in 15th in 19:55.58.
Murray State is off for a week before heading to the OVC Championships hosted by Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tenn.
