STORY LINES
The Racers return to 'The Track' to play host to Missouri State for Homecoming. The contest marks the first time since 1997 that the Racers will play a non-conference game on Homecoming.
The Racers own a 46-30-1 record on Homecoming, but are just 1-4 over the previous five years.
Freshman wide receiver Arthur Brackett was named the OVC Co-Newcomer of the Week after he pulled in a career-best 13 recpetions against Jacksonville State. The 13 receptions are the second most for a Racer receiver in program history.
Senior Marcus Harris' eight-catch performance against Jacksonville State gave the St. Louis native 154 career receptions, making the school's all-time leader in career receptions. Harris passes former teammate Derrick Townsel, who set the record just one season ago.
Missouri State enters the contest with a 1-0 record against OVC school's this season. The Bears opened the season with a 31-9 victory over Eastern Kentucky.
The Game
The Racers play their final non-conference game of the season as they play host to Missouri State for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. at 'The Track.'
The Series
Murray State and Missouri State are meeting for just the sixth time. The Bears handed the Racers a 35-10 defeat last season, but the Racers hold a 4-1 advantage in the all-time series. Prior to last season, the Racers and Bears had not met since 1985.
Racers on Homecoming
The Racers enter Saturday's game with an overall record of 46-30-1 in Homecoming games. MSU is just 1-4 over the last five years. The Racers won 10-straight Homecoming contests from 1971-80
vs. Mo St on Homecoming
Saturday's game will mark the second time that Missouri State will serve as the Racers opponent for Homecoming. The teams met in 1983 with the Racers coming away with a 19-0 vcitory.
vs. Missouri Valley Football
The game against Missouri State will mark the 17th-straight season the Racers have played a game against a school from the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The last Racer victory came in 2006 when MSU handed Indiana State a 59-40 defeat.
