Racers Take All Against SIU-Edwardsville

The Murray State women's tennis team bounced back from last week to take all seven matches against SIU-Edwardsville this Saturday afternoon at Kenlake and move to 1-1 on the season.
In singles play Angela McGahee defeated Carli Connors in three sets. McGahee lost her first set 1-6, but came right back and won the second and third sets 6-2, 6-4.
Cassidy Cunitz also took her match against Maggie Boeckman in three sets. Cunitz won her first 6-4, but lost the second set 4-6. She was able to come back and win the third set 6-3.
Both Alexis Webb and Ashley Canty went untested in their matches. Each went 6-0 in their first two sets.
Lindsey Wiseman defeated Kelsey Laird in her first set 6-3 and came out on top in a close battle on their second set that ended 7-5.
At the No. 6 singles position senior Lyndsay Ottoson took out SIUE's Ali Wulfers in two sets, 6-4, 6-2.
In doubles action McGahee and Wiseman teamed up to take on SIUE's Connors and Boeckman to win 8-2.
Cunitz and Ottosen also pulled out an 8-2 victory in doubles play over Wulfers and Amanda Niebur.
In the No. 3 doubles position Webb and Canty took an 8-4 victory over Laura Horning and Laird.
The Racer's will be back on the courts Sunday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. to face the University of Evansville at Kenlake.
