Angela McGahee Earns OVC Tennis Player of the Week Honor

Murray State's Angela McGahee was named the Ohio Valley Conference Tennis Player of the Week by the league office.

The senior from Memphis, Tenn., picked up a No. 1 singles win in two sets (6-3, 6-0) and won the doubles match 8-5 against UT Martin.

Against Eastern Illinois, she won her singles match in straight sets while teaming up with Ashley Canty to get the doubles win to help Murray State sweep Eastern Illinois.

McGahee and her Racer teammates begin play in the OVC Tournament Friday at 2 p.m. at the Lone Oak Tennis Center in Paducah, Ky. MSU is the no. 6 seed and faces the no. 3 seed UT Martin.
