Racers got 2-2 at KIVA Classic

The Murray State volleyball team had a strong showing at their first Spring volleyball tournament in Louisville, Ky. The Racers went 2-2 at the KIVA Classic defeating Samford (25-27, 15-13, 16-14) and Michigan State (27-25, 25-23) and fell to Western Michigan (23-25, 18-25) and Maryland (23-25, 18-25).

"All in all it was a great weekend," said head coach David Schwepker. "The team has been working hard this spring and was excited to actually get out and play some great competition. I am really proud of how they played, but we still made some mistakes. We have worked hard this week to go over our mistakes and our "not so smart" errors, so we are excited to get to play this weekend at Carbondale."

MSU has two more spring tournaments planned for 2010, including the SIU-Carbondale Spring Tournament, Saturday, April 17. The Racers will end their off season at the Middle Tennessee State University Spring Classic, Saturday, April 24.
