Soccer Falls 3-0 at SIUE

A pair of early first half goals proved to be too much t overcome as the Murray State women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 contest Sunday afternoon to SIUE in Edwardsville, Ill.
The Cougars (5-0-1) notched their first goal of the day on a strike from 25 yards out in the 13th minute and doubled their lead with a shot into the upper left corner of the goal two minutes later.
SIUE added its third and final goal with ten minutes remaining in the match to round out the scoring.
The Racers (1-5-2) combined for 10 shots on offense with seven shots on goal. MSU goalkeeper Tara Isbell had nine saves on the day.
Murray State returns to Cutchin Field next weekend for a pair of non-conference matches. The Racers face Louisiana Tech Sept. 17 at 3:00 p.m. and take on Western Michigan Sept. 19 at 11:00 a.m.
