Women's Results
Katelyn Jones paced the Murray State women's cross country team Saturday morning at the 2010 Commodore Classic hosted by Vanderbilt University.
Jones completed the 5K course at Percy Ward Park in Nashville, Tenn., in 19:40.50 to finish in 36th place. Senior Asenath NaAman and junior Kayla Crusham followed close behind in 44th and 45th with times of 19:49.94 and 19:51.97, respectively.
Bridget Stitchnot was the fourth-highest Racer competitor in 79th place at 21:24.40, and Jami Kloenne rounded out the MSU contingent in 86th with a finishing time of 21:59.07.
The Racers finished in ninth place of 16 teams with an average time of 20:33.18. Vanderbilt took the top three spots and placed five runners in the top ten to win the women's race.
Freshman Ryan Johnson was the high finisher for the men's squad in the 8K, finishing in 101st with a time of 29:37.47. Sophomore Jordan Althoff finished eight spots behind at 30:41.44 and Andy Pack completed the Murray State group at 31:24.78.
Tennessee won the men's event with an average time of 25:44.60 and had three runners in the top five.
Both teams return to action Saturday, Sept. 25 at the Memphis Twilight.
