Racers Travel to Georiga Dome to Face Georgia State

STORY LINES
Saturday's game will mark the final non-conference game of the season. The Racers are 1-1 in their two non-conference games this season. MSU has not won two non-conference games since 2002, when the Racers went 2-2 in non-conference games.
A handful of Racer players and coaches will be making a return to their home state this weekend. Defensive back Dexter Barnett and defensive lineman Ayo Ojolola are returning to their home city to play. Three other players will be playing within three hours of their hometown. Also, five coaches, including head coach Chris Hatcher, will be returning within one hour of their hometown.
Senior kicker Kienan Cullen kicked his 49th career field goal against Jacksonville State. With his next field goal, Cullen will become the school's all-time leader in career field goals made, breaking the tie with Paul Hickert. Cullen is also just 10 points shy of breaking Hickert's all-time scoring record of 263 points.
Senior Dexter Barnett will be making his second career start at cornerback. Barnett earned his first start against Jacksonville State, after starting the first four games at wide receiver.
The Game
The Racers travel for their final non-conference game of the season as they face Georgia State at 1 p.m. in the Georgia Dome.
In a Dome
Saturday's game will be the first time since 2001 that the Racers have played inside a dome. That season, MSU dropped a, 66-10, decision to Minnesota.
vs. Georgia State
The Racers game at Georgia State will mark the first meeting between the two schools. This season is just the second season of football for the Panthers.
Win No. 450
The Racers will be looking the program's 450th victory against Georgia State. MSU enters the game with a record of 449-388-6.

The game against Georgia State will be a homecoming of sorts for a handful of Racer players and coaches.

Brackett Puts Up Big Numbers
Sophomore wide receiver Arthur Brackett put up big numbers against Jacksonville State as he had eight catches for 181 yards and a touchdown. The 181 yards ties for the 10th-best single-game performance in MSU history. It was the second big game for Brackett against JSU as he had 13 catches for 96 yards a season ago.
Brackett Receives CFPA Honor
After his 181-yard performance against Jacksonville State, Arthur Brackett was selected to the College Football Performance Awards Honor Roll. The performance rates as the 10th-best single-game performance in school history.
Brockman Over 400
Quarterback Casey Brockman threw for more than 400 yards for the second time this season when he threw for 421 yards against Jacksonville State. He now owns two of the top 10 passing performances in the FCS this season.
Linebackers Make Plays
Linebackers Sam Small and Qua Huzzie continued to make big plays for the Racers as the duo combined for 31 tackles against Jacksonville State. Small recorded a career-best 16 stops, while Huzzie added 15 tackles and two tackles-for-loss.
Johnson Nearly Takes Punt Back
Dontrell Johnson returned punts for the first time against Jacksonville State and looked to have returned to his old form as he returned a punt 54 yards to the JSU one-yard line to set up a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.
Cullen Ties FG Record
Kicker Kienan Cullen has been consistent throughout his four-year career at Murray State. With his 44-yard field goal against Jacksonville State, Cullen tied Paul Hickert for the all-time record for field goals in a career. Cullen also trails Hickert by just 10 points in becoming the all-time leading score at MSU.

Senior running back Tyler Lavea found the endzone for the first time in his career against Jacksonville State as he scored on an eight-yard run on the Racers opening possession of the game. On the drive, Lavea carried the ball three times for 20 yards.
