Women’s Tennis Finishes Spring Break with Three Road Matches

MSU will first play George Mason (11-7), Tuesday, March 15 at 9 a.m. at the Shipyard in Hilton Head, S.C. The match will be one of five over three days at Hilton head for GMU. The Racers are 2-0 all-time against the Patriots, with the last meeting occurring in 1996-97. Prior to their two matches on Monday in Hilton Head, GMU has not played a match since Feb. 26.
Emory will be the next stop on the road trip for MSU, Thursday, March 17 at Woodruff PE Center starting at 3 p.m. The Eagles are 6-2 on the season and are ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division III women's tennis. The teams have met on two separate occasions, both earning a victory. The last meeting was in the 2000-01 campaign, with Emory earning the win.
The final stop of the road trip, that began March 2 and had included nine matches, will be Birmingham, Ala., to battle with Alabama-Birmingham. The match will be played at Lakeshore starting at 11 a.m., Friday, March 18. The Blazers and the Racers have met nine times before, with UAB holding a 6-3 advantage in the series. The last meeting was in the 2005-06 campaign and resulted in a Blazers win.
