Women’s Tennis Battles with Three Conference Teams this Week

The Racers (5-10, 1-1 OVC) head to battle the Skyhawks, Tuesday, March 29 at 2:30 p.m. on the Skyhawks Varsity Courts and will then head to Nashville, Tenn., Wednesday, March 30 for a 3 p.m. match-up with Tennessee State on the Tigers Courts. MSU will finish the week with a home match against the Redhawks, Saturday, April 2 starting at 2 p.m. The match is the annual Senior Day, where the Racers will honor seniors Alexis Webb and Lindsey Wiseman.
MSU is 51-16 overall against UTM, including a 20-7 mark when playing in Martin, Tenn. The Skyhawks head into Tuesday's match with a 7-7 overall record and a 3-0 mark in the league. UTM has been the winner in its last three matches (all conference matches), with its last outing coming March 22 versus Tennessee State (W, 7-0). The Racers earned a win in the last meeting with the Skyhawks (4-2) at the OVC Championship in 2010.
The Tigers are 0-8 on the season, including a 0-4 mark in the OVC. Their last match was March 25 when Jacksonville State earned a 7-0 victory. MSU is 22-0 all-time against TSU, including a 9-0 mark when playing at Tiger Courts. The last meeting resulted in a Racers' 7-0 win during the 2010 campaign.
The Redhawks are 1-8 overall this season and 0-2 against league opponents. SEMO has been idle since March 19 when they fell (5-2) to Western Kentucky. MSU owns a 40-1 all-time record in the series, including a 22-0 mark on Bennie Purcell Courts. The 2010 meeting resulted in a MSU win on the road (7-0).
