The Racers (5-10, 2-1 OVC) and the Lady Tigers did not compete in doubles competition first after being forced to move inside due to inclement weather and a short supply of indoor courts. The match was decided after the singles matches so the doubles were not contested.
“We executed very well today,” said head coach Connie Keasling. “We were also mentally into all of the matches. We will look to continue this performance in our match tomorrow and on Saturday.”
Senior Alexis Webb was the first to finish, with a sweep (6-0, 6-0) of Khadijah Williams at No. 3 singles. Junior Cassidy Cunitz followed with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Krystan Mason at No. 1 singles. Sophomore Ashley Canty then recorded a 6-0, 6-1 win over Shardel Suber at No. 2 singles.
