
11 Run Inning Powers Racers in 14-3 Win At Austin Peay

Murray State completed the weekend series win as Jenna Bradley hit her first grand slam of the season in a 14-3 thrashing of Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn.
The Racers teed off on Austin Peay in the second inning, scoring 11 runs on eight hits off of three different Lady Govs pitchers.Lauren Buch and Ellyn Troup started things off with a pair of hard hit singles through the infield. Leslie Bridges walked to load the bases and Buch scored a batter later on a Stephanie Mattocks single into center field.
Meghan Sims followed with a single past the third baseman down the left field foul line to advance the runners and score Troup. Everyone moved up a base later in the inning on a wild pitch that allowed Bridges to score and put Murray State up 3-0.
Taylor Wilson drew a one out walk to load the bases and Bradley crushed her 11th home run of the season, a grand slam deep over the fence in left center. The Racers offense kept working as Buch reached on an error by the APSU shortstop and Troup singled into center.
Bridges walked to load the bases and Mattocks followed with another walk to score the Racers eighth run of the frame. A pair of base hits completed the MSU scoring in the second; Sims singled up the middle to score a pair andMadysen Wilton singled through the left side into the outfield for the 11th run of the day.
Austin Peay got its first run of the day in the bottom of the third on a slow infield roller with two outs and the bases loaded from Caitlyn Anderson.
The Lady Govs added two more in the fourth, scoring a pair on a single to center from Shelby Norton with two outs in the inning.
MSU responded in the top of the fifth with three runs of its own. Wilson walked to lead off the inning and advanced to second on an infield single to the shortstop by Glosser. Bradley singled to left center to load the bases and Buch drove in the first run of the frame on an HBP. Bridges picked up her first hit of the game in driving in the final two Racer runs on a single into left field to take a 14-3 lead.
Shelby Kosmecki earned the win for Murray State (13-20, 6-10), entering in relief of starter Chelsey Sullivan and allowed two runs on two hits and a walk, improving to 6-4 on the season.
Kristen Broadway pitched the fifth for MSU, tossing a perfect inning with a pair of strike outs.
Eight different Racers had at least one hit on the day, with Bradley, Troup and Sims leading the team with two hits each. The top six players in the Racers batting lineup all had two runs and four Racers had more than one run batted in, led by Bradley's four off her home run and three coming from Sims.
Ashley Bolda took the loss for Austin Peay (9-30, 4-13), pitching one inning and giving up three runs on a pair of hits and a walk.
The Racers have either split or won their last six series and are 6-4 in their last 10 OVC games. Today's win moved Murray State into 7th place in the OVC, 2.5 games behind Eastern Kentucky for 6th place.
Murray State returns to action April 12, hosting SIU Edwardsville in a single game beginning at 3 p.m.
