
Racers Host SIU Edwardsville in Single OVC Game

Looking to keep gaining ground in the conference standings, Murray State welcomes SIU Edwardsville in for the final game of the season series with the Cougars at 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
The Cougars (18-21, 10-7 OVC) and Racers (13-20, 6-10) split an earlier meeting in Edwardsville, Ill., with SIUE winning 6-4 in the opener before the Racers picked up a 3-0 shutout win.
SIU Edwardsville took all three games this past weekend, defeating Tennessee Tech at home in a trio of close contests to improve to 10-7 in OVC play.
The Racers offense continued to stay hot last weekend, scoring 26 combined runs in a pair of victories at Austin Peay. Jenna Bradley led Murray State with nine RBI and a pair of home runs, including her first grand slam of the season in the Racers 14-3 win Sunday afternoon. Four Racers had at least four hits on the weekend with seven different players crossing home plate at least three times in the series. Shelby Kosmecki and Chelsey Sullivan picked up wins for MSU in the circle.
Murray State returns home to open the weekend, hosting Memphis in a pair of games Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
