“We couldn't be more pleased to announce the signing of Molly to our 2011 program,” said Schwepker. “She comes from a very strong junior college that has had continuous success. She is used to playing tough competition so she should make the transition from junior college to Division I without much difficulty. She is an extremely aggressive and competitive individual and she will help make us better.”
The 5-8 setter is a junior college transfer from Parkland College in Champaign, Ill. While with the Cobras, she helped the team to Region 24 championships in 2009 and 2010 and a third-place finish at the 2009 National Junior College Athletic Association DII National Tournament.
Goodrich was selected to the all-conference and all-region teams as a sophomore. In 2010 she ranked first in the NJCAA assists column (1,694), sixth in assists per match (10.22) and 12th in hitting efficiency.
Before attending Parkland, Goodrich was a standout for the Lincoln Community High School volleyball squad in Lincoln, Ill. The all-conference first-team pick left the Railers holding school records for service aces in a season (72), career service aces (148), most service points in a season (239) and in a career (577).
Goodrich was also a five-year member of the Illini Elite club volleyball team based in Bloomington, Ill., while in high school. She also participated in Pep club, L.E.A.F. Club, FCA, Spanish Club and was on the honor roll at Lincoln Community.
