Delaney Howson Finishes Eighth at Ole Miss Intercollegiate

Morgan Cross of MSU had scores of 76-78-75=229 to finish 36th while Alli Weaver had a 71st place finish with scores of 80-78-78=236. Caroline Lagerborg had rounds of 81-83-76=240 to get a spot in 77th place. Alexandra Lennartsson finished 91st with scores of 86-80-86=252.
Alexandra Hinteregger played the Ole Miss event as an individual and placed 94th with rounds of 86-90-85=261.
Four of MSU's six players had their lowest round of the tournament in the final round.
“I saw some good things this week and we're going to keep working at it,” MSU Head Coach Velvet Milkman said. “We had some good rounds this week on a difficult golf course and
Delaney played very well in getting a sixth place finish.”
The Racers had scores of 309-306-307=922 to finished ahead of 11th place Mississippi State at 923. Central Florida was the 12th place squad at 924, with SMU (925), Missouri (926), Memphis (928) and East Tennessee State (930) rounding out the field.
Tennessee finished first in the 54-hole event at 863, while Tulsa (893), Tulane (898), Ole Miss (900), Coastal Carolina (905), Southern Mississippi (906), Michigan (908), Maryland (909) and Kansas (920) made up the top-9 teams.
The Racers play Saturday in Richmond, Ky. at Arlington GC in the EKU Spring Invitational before going for their third straight Ohio Valley Conference title April 21-23 at Greystone GC in Dickson, Tenn.
The Murray State Racers brought home a 10th place showing in a deep field of teams at the Ole Miss Intercollegiate in Oxford, Miss.
MSU's Delaney Howson came up with an eighth place finish after she carded scores of 72-70-78=220 to finish seven shots off the lead of Tennessee's pair of Erica Popson and Nathalie Madsson who tied for first at 213.
