Racers Look To Stay Hot In Weekend Series At Austin Peay

Looking to keep its hot streak of play intact, Murray State travels to Austin Peay for a three game series this weekend, playing two April 9 with a solo game April 10. Action both days is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
APSU took the season series last year, defeating the Racers 9-3 and 4-2 after Murray State took the opener 3-2. The Lady Govs have struggled recently, dropping three in a row, including a 10-1 loss against OVC-opponent Tennessee State. Austin Peay maintains a balanced offense, having five players with at least 10 RBI and five more with at least 10 runs. Morgan Brewer is the staff ace with a team-leading five wins and 3.92 ERA on the season.
The Racers kept playing well this past week, sweeping Belmont in a pair of 3-2 and 5-0 victories. Chelsey Sullivan shut out the Bruins for the second time this season, striking out nine in a complete game victory.Lauren Buch homered in the opener, her tenth of the season, and led the Racers with three RBI.
Murray State returns home for a single game against SIU Edwardsville April 14 and non-conference doubleheader against Memphis April 15.
