Racer Rifle Takes 5th At Withrow Invitational

Results
The Murray State Rifle team hosted the Withrow Invitational over the weekend at the Pat Spurgin Range at Roy Stewart Stadium in Murray, Ky.
The Racers finished with a fifth place finish in a field of eight teams.
UTEP won the event with a score of 4660, with Jacksonville State (4647) and Nebraska (4647) sharing runner-up. Ohio State (4640) and the Racers (4634) rounded out the top-five. Memphis (4596) finished sixth with UT Martin mixed (4551) and UTM women (4505) rounding out the field.
Kyle Donnan was MSU's top finisher in smallbore with a 577, which was good for a fifth place showing in a field of 69 shooters. Bill Harvey (575) placed 14th with Kelsey Emme (574) 16th and Ashley Rose (572) 20th.
In air rifle, Kristen Moyer placed ninth with a 587, while Emme (586) was 14th. Donan (583) was 21st, while Caroline Barber and Rose (580) placed 26th.
The Racers recorded a 2298 in smallbore and 2336 in air rifle.
"I thought we had a good weekend,” MSU Head Coach Alan Lollar said. “It was great to see so many shooters at MSU for the weekend. We had a good team effort and I think we will be ready for the OVC Championships this weekend at UT Martin."
"We are looking forward to the challenge. The OVC is tough this year. Every team has the potential to have a big day."
