The Cougars use a balanced attack on offense, as eight players have scored a goal this season, with seven of those having scored just one goal. Michelle Auer leads the Cougars with three goals in 2012.
Eastern Illinois comes into the weekend with a 4-10 record overall and a 2-3 mark in the OVC. The Panthers have also played three common opponents this season as MSU. Beating SEMO and Evansville and having lost to UT Martin.
The Racers are 4-6-4 in program history against EIU and have not lost in the last seven meetings with the Panthers. Head Coach Beth Acreman is 4-0-2 all-time against EIU, including a 3-0 victory last season at Cutchin Field. Shauna Wicker and Mooney each recorded a goal in last season's win with Jillian Russell and Veronika Pribyslavska adding assists.
The Racers are currently a half game back of the sixth and final playoff spot in the OVC to make the conference tournament with six games to play. Four of those six games come against opponents currently in the top six in the league.
