Racers Host Key Weekend Finale

The Murray State soccer team plays its final two games of the regular season this weekend as the Racers host Eastern Kentucky and Morehead State on Friday and Sunday, respectively. The Racers are trying to fight their way into the sixth and final spot for the OVC Tournament.
EKU comes to Cutchin Field for a 3 p.m. kickoff on Friday. Sunday will be Senior Day at Murray State as Morehead State comes to town for a 1 p.m. match. MSU will honor six Racers before Sunday's match, they are Jenelle Cunningham, Ashley Fraser, Stephanie Gale, Lauren Kelly, Gina Killion and Veronika Pribyslavska.
The Racers need to win both games this weekend and get some help in order to qualify for the tournament. Murray State also needs Southeast Missouri to lose both of its contests this weekend and have Jacksonville State lose one of its final two games.
MSU comes into the weekend having split against JSU and Tennessee Tech last weekend in Murray. The Racers defeated the Gamecocks in a thrilling 2-1 overtime contest. Pribyslavska netted the game-winner for the Racers. It was her seventh goal and third game-winning goal of the season. Julie Mooney assisted on both goals in the game and also set a new program record for shots in a game with 15. On Sunday the Racers fell 2-1 to TTU. Mooney recorded her first goal of the season in the loss.
Eastern Kentucky comes into Friday's contest with a 9-6-2 record overall and 5-2-1 in the OVC. The Colonels are currently in a tie for second and a game behind UT Martin in the OVC standings. Nikki Donnelly leads EKU with seven goals this season.
Morehead State has a record of 1-11-4 and 1-4-3 in the OVC. The Eagles' lone win came in a 2-1 victory over Belmont in September. Macy Cobb leads Morehead with three goals in 2012, while Kimberly Golden and Elizabeth McSparin both come in with two goals each.
