Emme to Compete in the Bavarian Championships in Germany

Murray State sophomore rifle athlete Kelsey Emme will be competing in the Bavarian Air Gun Championships in Munich, Germany on January 24-26.
"Kelsey has been building toward this match since her strong showing at the USA Shooting Nationals at Fort Benning last summer," said Head Coach Alan Lollar.
Emme had two solid days of competition and made both finals on the second day. Emme's final score of 103 made her the 2012 USA Shooting Junior Air Rifle National Champion. Emme also finished seventh in the open final.
"Last summer was big because she began to get comfortable and believe she belonged in that elite company," said Lollar.
At the recently USA Shooting Winter Air Championships, Emme continued to impress and had a solid score of 103.1 on the final day of competition.
"Kelsey trains for the pressure of the final, when she gets there she looks very comfortable."
"I'm just excited for the opportunity," said Emme. “I look forward to the competition and having the chance to compete with the very best.”
"We are all excited for her,” continued Lollar. “She has worked to earn the chance. The experience will help her become the shooter she wants to be."
Emme will leave after Murray State shoots in the Withrow Open on January 19. The Racers are off the weekend of the championships in Germany and once Emme returns, she will begin preparation for the OVC Championships in Morehead the next weekend along with the rest of the MSU rifle team.
