The Breds return to the friendly confines of Reagan Field to play a three-game series with #29 Purdue. The series is set to get underway at 2 p.m. on Friday afternoon. The series will continue with a 2 p.m. first pitch on Saturday, and conclude with a 1 pm. matinee on Sunday.

Weekend Baseball
This Breds return home for a weekend series against nationally ranked Purdue. The series will get underway at 2 p.m., and continue with a 2 p.m. start on Saturday and a 1 p.m. first pitch on Sunday.
Weekend Weather
The weather for weekend has improved as the week has progressed. Friday and Saturday should have plenty of sun with temperatures in the low 60s, while a chance a rain exists on Sunday with a high of 62.
vs. Purdue
The Breds hold a 36-14-2 advantage in the all-time series with Purdue. The last meeting between the two teams was played in Morehead, but the previous 51 meetings were played in Murray. The Boilermakers won the last meeting, but MSU won the previous six meetings.

The Breds are 72-53-2 all-time against teams from the Big 10 Conference. The Boilermakers are the most played team from the Big 10. The last time MSU played a team from the Big 10 was in 2004 against Indiana. The Breds won the game 2-1 as part of the Service Academy Classic in Millington, Tenn.

This weekend will mark the first time a ranked opponent has played at Reagan Field since WKU played the Breds on March 24, 2010.

The Breds will be looking for their first victory over a ranked team since 2010. The last win over a ranked opponent came on March 15, 2010 when the Breds defeated #22 Kentucky, 7-5.
No Hitter vs. Purdue
Murray State has thrown seven no-hitters in school history. Once of those no-hitters happened on April 5, 1973 when former MSU head coach Mike Thieke did not allow a hit against Purdue.
Ritzheimer Goes Big Fly
Paul Ritzheimer hit his first home run of the season against Belmont when he led off the fifth inning with a long home run to left field. The homer was the second of the career for Ritzheimer.
Shuemaker Earns OVC Honor
After striking out 13 hitters over nine innings of relief, Luke Shuemaker was named the OVC Pitcher of the Week. He earned the save against WKU by striking out four in three shutout innings. He followed that up by fanning a career best nine in his six innings of shutout baseball.
Larson Nearly Hits For Cycle
Right fielder Cody Larson nearly hit for the cycle in the finale against Central Arkansas as he went 3-for-5 with a triple, home run and two RBIs. Both the triple and home run were the first for the senior this season.
Elliott's Game Winner
Brandon Elliott came through in the clutch in the middle game against Central Arkansas as he went down 0-2 in the top of the ninth inning before delivering a two-run double down the left-field line in a 5-4 victory.

The Breds hit the road on March 15 to face #23 Kentucky. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. in Lexington.
