Results

The Murray State women's tennis team played an Ohio Valley Conference match Tuesday that went down to the last pairing that the Racers eventually lost 4-3 to Eastern Illinois at Bennie Purcell Courts in Murray, Ky.

With the match all tied 3-3, the sixth singles position was in the spot light with MSU's Ashley Pierson losing a tough decision 6-3, 7-5 to EIU's Kristien Laird.

MSU won the doubles point with a clean sweep of the three matches. Cassidy Cunitz and Ashley Canty were 8-2 winners, with the teams of Carla Suga and Carolyn Huerth, and Pierson and Jordana Klein each winning 8-2.

MSU won two singles matches with Klein taking care of EIU's Amanda Dibbs 6-4, 6-0 and Suga taking a 7-5, 6-1 win over Jennifer Kim 6-3, 7-5.

Cunitz dropped her match to Janelle Prisner 6-1, 6-0 and Canty lost to Merritt Whitley 6-1, 7-5. Huerth was defeated 6-4, 6-3 by Sephora Boulbahaiem.

The Racers (10-9, 5-2 OVC) hit the road for their final regular season matches at Eastern Kentucky Friday and Morehead State on Saturday.
