MSU Cheer Tryouts Moved to June 10

Tryouts for the Murray State University Cheer Squad have been postponed until Sunday, June 10.
Candidates who have submitted an application for the tryout which was originally scheduled for April 28, do not have to submit new materials.
Additional candidates interested in trying out are encouraged to attend the new date.
“We are in the process of hiring a new coach and wanted to have that coach a part of the process,” explained MSU Associate Athletic Director Paul Bubb. “While our search is progressing, we realized the hire would not be complete by April 28.”
“A number of candidates also contacted us and asked about video auditions,” Bubb added. “However, due to conflicts with everything from softball tournaments, to UCA World Championships, to proms,” “We felt there were enough conflicts for us to change dates.”
The new date corresponds with one of the university's summer orientation dates (June 9) which is for new and incoming students at Murray State.
“If a new student was scheduled to come to this Murray State Summer Orientation session, hopefully they will be able to extend their visit for the tryouts on Sunday,” Bubb said.
