Volleyball Releases 2012 Schedule

2012 Schedule
Nine home matches and three non-conference tournaments highlight the 2012 Murray State volleyball schedule, released on Monday.
The Racers will kick-off their 2012 campaign on Aug. 24 at the IPFW Invitational in Fort Wayne, Ind. MSU will play its first match of the season on Friday against the host Mastodons, followed by a doubleheader with Kent State and Cleveland State on Saturday.
On Aug. 31, the Racers will travel to Virginia for the LaQuinta Inn & Suites Highlander Invitational. MSU's opponents while in the other Commonwealth will include The Citadel, St. Francis (Pa.) and hosts, Radford.
The final regular-season tournament of the season for MSU will be West Virginia's Gold & Blue Classic on Sept. 15-16. Murray State will play West Virginia and tangle with Cleveland State for the second time in 2012 over the course of the two-day event.
Following the Radford tournament, the Racers will make the short drive to Evansville for a mid-week game on Sept. 4. MSU will close out the non-conference portion of its schedule on Oct. 2 when it hosts Southern Illinois at Racer Arena.
Fans will get their first chance of 2012 to see Coach David Schwepker's squad at home when the Racers open OVC play against Tennessee Tech on Sept. 21.
Other highlights of the schedule include a Sept. 29 trip to rival Morehead and an Oct. 25 date with conference newcomer Belmont..
MSU will close out its regular-season slate on Nov. 10 with Senior Day against Eastern Kentucky.
