Benton Wins Pepsi Athlete of the Week

Murray State placekicker Jordan Benton has been named the Murray State Pepsi Athlete of the Week for his performance on Saturday against Eastern Illinois. Benton tied a school record by making five field goals against the Panthers.
Benton also received the ADIDAS OVC Specialist of the Week award and the College Football Performance Award's National Placekicker of the Week. The sophomore from Murray, Ky., became the Racer in program history to connect on five field goals.
Benton and the Racers return home this weekend for a contest against Tennessee Tech. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at The Stew.
