Murray State Rifle Loses Colleague Gerald DeBoy

Murray State University regretfully announces the passing of former Jacksonville State rifle coach Gerald DeBoy.
"Coach Deboy is one of the main reasons that I am coaching now,” said Racer head rifle coach Allan Lollar. “When he was at JSU he was never too busy to answer my questions and help me understand both the sport and the shooters."
DeBoy, coached the Gamecocks rifle program for 14 seasons and led them to nine consecutive NCAA National Championship appearances, as well as multiple NRA All-Americans. In 2002, DeBoy was named the NCAA Rifle Committee Chairman.
"Coach Deboy did a great job building JSU into a consistent winner,” said Lollar.
A native of Portland, Ind., DeBoy retired in 1992 after 24 years in the United States Army Infantry.
