Racers Host Austin Peay for Homecoming

STORY LINES
The Racers look to get back on the winning track as they welcome Austin Peay for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN3 as the OVC Game of the Week.
The Racers are 48-41-1 all-time on Homecoming. This will mark the sixth time that the Governors will serve as the opponent for Homecoming. The Racers have won all previous meetings, including outscoring APSU 102-7 in the last two meetings.
Senior wide receiver Walter Powell needs just 15 receiving yards to pass Marcus Harris and become MSU's all-time leader in receiving yards. Powell currently has 190 receptions for 2,456 yards and 28 touchdowns. Harris finished his career with 216 receptions for 2,471 yards.
Powell is already the Racers all-time leader in receiving touchdowns and 100-yard games with 10.
Sophomore quarterback Maikhail Miller earned his third-straight OVC Newcomer of the Week Honor. Miller went 30-for-45 for 292 yards and three touchdowns. He also rushed 17 times for 63 yards and a score.

The Racers return home to face Austin Peay for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. and can be seen live on ESPN3 as the OVC Game of the Week.

The Racers enter the contest with a 33-13-0 all-time record against the Govs. MSU has won five straight and 12 of the last 13 meetings between the two teams. Â
Last Year vs. Austin Peay
The Racers jumped out to an early 14-0 lead and never looked back in route to a 52-14 victory. MSU threw for 485 yards as Walter Powell had nine catches for 172 yards an two touchdowns.
Homecoming
The Racers are 48-41-1 all-time on Homecoming. MSU is 2-1 on Homecoming the last three seasons, with the losing team scoring 59 points in two of the three contests.
Powell Eyes Yards Record
Senior Walter Powell needs just 15 receiving yards to pass Marcus Harris for the all-time record at MSU. Powell currently has 2,456 yards in his career. He is already the school record holder for touchdowns (28) and 100-yard receiving games (10).
Miller Earns Another OVC Honor
Quarterback Maikhail Miller earned his third-straight OVC Newcomer of the Week honor after going 30-for-45 for 292 yards and three touchdowns against SEMO. He also rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Miller has been honored as the Newcomer of the Week four times this season.
Powell Sets Career High in Catches
Walter Powell set a new career-high against SEMO as he hauled in 15 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns. The effort bests his old mark of 14 receptions set against UT Martin last season. It is also just one reception shy of Harvey Tanner's school-record 16-reception game against Austin Peay on Nov. 4, 1967.
Manning Has INT in 3-Straight Games
Cornerback Josh Manning intercepted a pass for the third-straight game when he stepped in front of a pass in the fourth quarter against SEMO. Two of his three interceptions have happened in the fourth quarter.
Three Overtime Game
The Racers three-overtime against SEMO tied for the longest game in school history. MSU played a three-overtime against Austin Peay on Nov. 17, 1990, with the Racers prevailing 31-24.
Two Overtime Games
Murray State has played a pair of overtime games this season, marking the third time in school history the Racers have played two overtime games in the same season. MSU played a pair of overtime games in 1988 (0-2) and 1997 (0-2)
