Ingram Named to OVC All-Newcomer Team

In an announcement made by the OVC, Murray State volleyball freshman Scottie Ingram has been named to the Ohio Valley All-Newcomer team. Ingram was voted in by the conference head coaches and sports information directors.
Ingram becomes the second Racer in as many years to be named to the All-Newcomer team. Current teammate Taylor Olden was selected in 2012.
As a freshman, Ingram finished second on the team with 331 kills and led the Racers with 422 digs. She became the first freshman with more than 300 kills since Logan Su in 2008. She is also the first Racer to tally more than 300 kills and 400 digs in a single season since both Alison Mugler and Tara DeMage accomplished the feat in 2007. The outside hitter also finished with 18 services aces and 48 total blocks.
Ingram recorded a double-double in 15 out of the team's 30 matches and had a streak of six straight in September and October.
She registered a career-high 20 kills in a win against Davidson and dug out more than 20 attacks six times, with a high of 23 against UNC Greensboro.
At 16-14, Ingram helped lead the Racers to their first winning season since 2008 (19-12).
