The Murray State women's basketball team kicked off its 2013-14 campaign with a 103-59 exhibition win over Berea Sunday at the CFSB Center.

All 13 players scored in the game for the Racers, with five registering in double figures. MSU shot 38.7 percent from the floor in the game, including an astounding 15 made 3-pointers.

Jessica Winfrey led the way for MSU with the game's lone double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds, while Nikia Edom came off the bench to lead all scorers with 17 points. Keiona Kirby added 16 points to the cause, while Taylor Porter and Julia Fox rounded out the double-digit Racers with 15 and 12, respectively. Chanyere Hosey also had a big night, as she pulled down a game-high 12 boards to go along with seven points.

The Murray State defense was also on display Sunday, as they limited Berea to just 28.9 percent from the floor and a paltry 15.8 percent from beyond the arc. A key factor in the Mountaineer's limited number of shots was the lack of turnovers by the Racers. MSU committed just 11 turnovers in the contest, while it combined for 17 assists as a team.

Johnesha Warren led Berea on the day with 19 points, while Katelyn Butler followed with 12. Meagan Walker was the leading rebounder for the Mountaineers, tying Hosey for the game-high with 12.

On Friday, MSU will officially start the season when it hosts Robert Morris-Springfield at the CFSB Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
