STORY LINES
The Racers return to the friendly confines of The Track as they welcome #2 Eastern Illinois. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
The Panthers hold a 15-13 advantage in the all-time series. The Racers won back-to-back games in 2010 and 2011 before EIU won 50-49 in overtime last season.Â
The contest marks the second time the Panthers come to Stewart Stadium as the nations No. 2 ranked team. In 2002, Tony Romo brought his Panthers to town, only to leave with a 37-35 defeat. Shane Andrus gave the Racers the victory with a 52-yard field goal as time expired.
Senior wide receiver Walter Powell is just one reception shy of becoming the second player in school history with 200 career receptions. Powell is second on the all-time list behind Marcus Harris (216).
The Racer defense scored their third touchdown of the season when T-Ray Malone fell on a fumble in the endzone in the first quarter against UT Martin. Darrell Smith returned an interception for a touchdown against Campbellsville, while Josh Manning returned a fumble for a score against Tennessee Tech.

Saturday marks the second time Eastern Illinois will come to Stewart Stadium as the No. 2 ranked team in the FCS. In their last visit, Shane Andrus kicked a 52-yard field goal as time expired the give MSU the 37-35 victory.
Racers vs Ranked Opponents
The games marks the seventh time the Racers will face a ranked opponent in the Chris Hatcher era. MSU is 2-4 in the previous six contests, having knocked off a ranked opponent in each of the last two seasons.
Malone Finds Endzone
Sophomore T-Ray Malone reached the endzone for the first time in his career when he fell on a fumble in the endzone in the first quarter against UT Martin.

Senior Jaamal Berry had his second-straight 100-yard performance when he rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown against UT Martin. It is the first time in his career he has rushed for over 100 yards in back-to-back games.
