The Breds and Cougards have met eight times prior with MSU holding a 7-1 advantage in the all-time series. All eight previous games have been played at Reagan Field. The two teams met twice last season with the Breds prevailing 10-6 and 11-1.

Midweek Baseball
The Breds open their 2013 home season as they welcome Mid-Continent to Reagan Field for the first midweek game of the season. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
Midweek Weather
The weather will be a bit chlly for the game as temperatures are only expected to reach the mid-40s. The good news is the chance of rain is very low.
vs. Mid-Continent
The Breds and Cougars are meeting for the ninth time with MSU holding a 7-1 advantage in the all-time series. The two teams met twice a season ago, with the Breds coming away with 10-6 and 11-1 victories.
OVC Digital Network
This Tuesday's game against Mid-Continent will mark the first baseball game broadcast live on the OVC Digital Network. Inclement weather may result in the game not being broadcast.
Home Openers
The Breds are opening their 25th season at the new Johnny Reagan Field. MSU is 4-5 in home openers under head coach Rob McDonald.
Busy Start to Season
The Breds are busy at the early part of the 2013 season as they will play eight games in the first 10 days of the season. MSU will play five home games this week.
Mathews Has Big Day
Redshirt freshman Taylor Mathews had a big day in just his second career start. In the finale against Central Arkansas, Mathews went 4-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored. In two games, Mathews went 5-for-9 with a double, an RBI and a run scored
Two-Out RBIs
The MSU offense came through with two outs in the series finale against UCA as four of the five runs scored with two outs. Taylor Mathews and Greg Guest each delivered RBI singles, and Rick Linton drew a bases-loaded walk.
Behind the Plate
The Breds used three different catchers in the three games against Central Arkansas. Dalton West got the start in the opener, while Nick Paradossi caught the middle game and Rick Linton the finale.
DeLeeuw Makes Solid Debut
Junior Cashtyn DeLeeuw made his Breds debut against Central Arkansas and pitched well enough to earn a victory. The right hander allowed two runs on seven singles over five innings.
Sunday Pitching Duo
The duo of right handers Alex Gordon and Cashtyn DeLeeuw will team up to throw the final game of the Central Arkansas. The two will continue to team up the first couple of weekends as they work their way back after not throwing in the Fall.
Infield Intact
The Murray State infield will look familiar on opening day as all four members will have seen significant time a season ago. Mike Kozlowski started 55 games at first base, Dylan Wheeler made 49 starts at second, Noah Zipko made 32 starts at shortstop and Brandon Elliott started 10 games at third last season.
MAC-Stand
The Breds opening homestand will feature four games against the Mid-American Conference. MSU will play host to Central Michigan (Feb. 21), before welcoming Bowling Green (Feb. 22-24) for a three-game series. MSU will also host Northern Illinois on March 12-13.
The Directions of Illinois
Murray State will see plenty of teams from around the state of Illinois this season as they will play seven games against directional schools in the state. The Breds will travel to face conference foe Eastern Illinois, host a pair of games with Northern Illinois and play a home-and-home with Southern Illinois.
Two-Sport Pokey
Freshman Pokey Harris will be on the diamond this spring after spending the fall as a member of the Racer football team. Harris saw action in all 11 games as a true freshman, playing mainly on special teams. He carried the ball 18 times for 74 yards on the season, including leading the team with 27 yards against Florida State.
Eggo Preseason All-OVC
Junior Brandon Eggenschwiler was selected to the 2013 Preseason All-Ohio Valley Conference team as the designated hitter. Eggo was honored after earned second-team all-conference honors after the 2012 season.
