The Murray State women's tennis team got back on the winning tract on Saturday as the Racers defeated Eastern Illinois 5-1 in OVC action played in Terre Haute, Ind.

The Racers (5-7, 2-1 OVC) won five of the six singles matches on the day. Ashley Canty defeated Janelle Prisner at number one 6-4 and 7-6. Carla Suga was victorious at number two, 6-2, 6-3. Megan Blue won at number three 7-5 and 7-5. While Erin Patton defeated EIU's Ali Foster at number four singles, 6-2 and 7-6 and Suzaan Stoltz won at number six 8-5 over Kristen Laird.

Carolyn Huerth fell at number five to the Panthers' Jennifer Kim 6-0, 6-4. The two teams played just the singles portion of the match since the Racers clinched the victory in singles play.

MSU will return to action on Sunday as they will travel to face SIU Edwardsville at 11 a.m.
