Sam Harris Joins Murray State Rifle

Murray State Rifle Head Coach Alan Lollar announced the signing of Sam Harris of New Albany, Ind.
Harris, will join his sister Hannah, a sophomore, on the MSU Rifle squad in the fall as a freshman.
Sam Harris is a four year member of the New Albany High School Navy JROTC Precision Rifle Team and was team captain his senior year.
He also led New Albany High School to three consecutive Indiana State Championships. As a senior he placed first in 3P air rifle and set a new state record with a score of 589 out of a possible 600. Harris also helped New Albany to a first place finish in the 2013 3P Precision Air Navy Championship and he placed 3rd overall individually.
Harris earned the Distinguished Marksman badge during his junior season and led his team to its highest finish in the Kentuckiana Air Rifle Conference.
He was also the cadet commander for the JROTC unit and was president of the German club.
"It's exciting to get a young man with Sam's determination and drive to our program here at Murray State,” Lollar said. “He has a lot of potential and I am looking forward to his joining the team. Sam is the type of student-athlete that will do well at Murray State. He will fit in well with the character of the team.”
