Severns Releases 2013 Cross Country Schedule

Local flavor peppers the 2013 Murray State men's and women's cross country schedule as announced by head coach Jenny Severns on Tuesday. This year's slate will include six regular-season races with three races in Illinois, two inside the Commonwealth and one in nearby Nashville.
"I am really excited about our schedule this season," said head coach Jenny Severns. "We have a lot of variety in our slate with some fast courses and some tough courses. In addition to being tested on an individual level, we will also get to see a lot of great competition as well."
The Racers will kick-off the 2013 season on Aug. 30 in Nashville with the Belmont Opener. They will then travel to Illinois for two races; Eastern Illinois' Walt Crawford Open on Sept. 6 and Southern Illinois' Saluki Invitational on Sept. 21.
MSU will begin October with a trip to Louisville for the Greater Louisville Classic on the fifth, followed by the Bradley Classic in Peoria, Ill., two weeks later on the 18th. The Racers will then close out their regular-season with 2013 OVC Championships on Nov. 1 at Morehead State.
On Nov. 15, Murray State will travel to Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Va., for the 2013 NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by Virginia. The 2013 NCAA Cross Country Championships will be held on Nov 23 and will return Terre Haute, Ind., for the 10th time in the past 12 years.
