Murray State women's basketball head coach Rob Cross has announced another addition to his 2013-14 recruiting class, Antonia Niebler of Germany.
Niebler, a 5-9 guard from Bad Aibling, is coming off a great season for the TuS Bad Aibling Fireballs of the 2.Bundesliga, the second highest level in German women's basketball. Her season high came against Leimen when she scored 20 points, including a near perfect 7-for-8 performance at the free throw line.
"We are excited about adding a student-athlete like Antonia to an already deep class," said head coach Rob Cross. "She is an athletic guard that is also a tenacious defender. Offensively, she has a quick first step and the ability to knock down the three. Her experience playing team international competition for Germany has given Toni the drive to play with great passion. It always is special to play for your country and she can bring that unique perspective to the Racer family. She has played at a very high level in Germany and is looking forward to growing as a player and person here at Murray State."
Niebler is the ninth member of the 2013-14 class and will make the move to Murray when classes resume in August. Joining her as new Racers this upcoming season will be six other freshmen and two sophomore transfers. Niebler will also be the second international student-athlete in this current crop of players, joining Australian sophomore Bianca Babic.
