Racer Cross Country Opens Season With Wins

The Murray State men's and women's cross country teams kicked off their respective 2013 seasons on Friday at the Belmont Opener in Nashville, Tenn., with each team posting a pair of wins over OVC foes UT Martin and Tennessee State. The women notched perfect scores against both teams, while the men picked up a perefect score against TSU.
Individually, the women were led by Brittany Bohn who finished 34th with a time of 19:21.76. Abbie Oliver followed in 36th, while Alicyn Hester came in at 48th place. Carolyne Tanui, Emma Gilmore and Leah Krause rounded out the day for MSU in 52nd, 58th and 60th, respectively.
The men were led by Cole Cisneros who finished in 48th place with a time of 16:56.16. Cisneros was followed by Mitch Harris in 52nd , Neil Yockey in 79th, and Jarred Koerner in 80th.
The Racers will return to action on Sept. 6. at Eastern Illinois' Walt Crawford Open in Charleston.
