Racers Take 6th At Novadell

Duncan McCormick placed 14th to lead the Murray State men's golf team at the Austin Peay Intercollegiate in Hopkinsville, Kentucky., at the Links At Novadel.
McCormick carded scores of 71-69-72=212 and led the way for MSU with a team sixth place finish.
Jordan Smith placed 15th after rounds of 71-70-73=214, while Matthew Zakutney was in 32nd place after shooting 75-74-71=220. Jared Gosser finished 49th with rounds of 74-77-73=224, with Preston French taking 58th place with rounds of 80-76-73=229.
Brock Simmons is played the event as an individual and place 57th place with scores of 75-75-78=228.
The Racers carded scores of 291-289-289=569 and finished in sixth place in the field of 12 teams. MSU finished ahead of Tennessee tech (871), Eastern Illinois (873), Samford (875) and Morehead State (886). Host Austin Peay won the event at 842, ahead of UT Martin at 850. Eastern Kentucky was third at 851, with Belmont and Southern Illinois sharing fourth place at 854.
The Links at Novadell played to a par of 72 and 6,841 yards.
The Racers will finish the fall portion of the 2014-15 season (Oct. 27-28) in Estero, Florida at Old Corkscrew Golf Club.
