Racers End Fall Season In Florida Event

The Murray State's Jordan Smith paced the Racers in final men's golf event of the fall at the Homewood-Hilton Garden FGSU Classic.
Smith fired rounds of 80-70-86=236 for a spot in 45th place in a field of excellent teams that tackled a tough Jack Nicklaus layout in the Old Corckscrew Golf Club in Estero, Florida.
The Racers had rounds of 320-311-326=957 and placed 13th.
Other Murray State scores included Duncan McCormick in 62nd place with scores of 76-85-80=241, and Jared Gosser in 64th place after scores of 87-75-80=242. Preston French had scores of 80-81-85=246 for a spot in 68th place, while Matthew Zakutney finished 75th with scores of 84-89-81=254.
The event was hosted by Florida Gulf Coast University at Old Corckscrew Golf Club.
Old corkscrew GC is played to a par of 72 and at a length of 7,393 yards.
The course is a Jack Nicklaus design that opened in 2007.Â
