Jordan Smith Has Third Top-5 Finish Of The Fall Season

Murray State's Jordan Smith came home with his third top-5 finish in four events at the Skyhawk Classic at Paris Landing State Park in Buchanan, Tenn.

Smith fired rounds of 69-69-74 to finish with a 4-under-par 212.

Play was delayed 90 minutes prior to the final round because of rain and during the round players faced very windy conditions.

The Racers finished in fifth place with scores of 287-284-303=879. Alabama State was the winner at 853, with UT Martin (856), Southern Illinois (863) and Tennessee State (878) rounded out the top-4.

Other Murray State scores included Jared Gosser with a spot in 18th place after rounds of 73-70-78=221 and Matthew Zakutney in 23rd place after rounds of 72-78-73=223. Preston French also had a share of 23rd place after rounds of 73-72-78=223. The Racers played the final round with four players after T.J. Ferry was disqualified.

The Racers had three playing as individuals including Brock Simmons in 27th place with scores of 71-79-74=224. Duncan McCormick had scores of 76-74-76=226 to get a spot in 34th place, while Myles Morrissey placed 42nd in the field of 53 players with scores of 74-83-73=230.

The course at Paris Landing played to a par-72 and 6,685 yards.
